The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is the Catholic volunteer organization dedicated to serving individuals and families of all faiths in need throughout the Greater St. Louis area. The St. Anselm Conference of SVdP is one of the most active out of the 138 conferences in the St. Louis region in terms of providing help to our neighbors in need and consists of more than 70 volunteer members.
The SVdP's mission is to join together in a bond of friendship and to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. All talents are welcomed and shared. The scope of our work is:
To follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to his compassionate and liberating love.
To welcome assistance from anyone who is sincere and prepared to help, even in a small way.
To bring any form of help that alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity in all their dimensions.
To serve those in need regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions.
To establish relationships based on trust and friendship, not judging those they serve- listening and understanding with their hearts, beyond both words and appearances.
Vincentians find inspiration in Christ's life of service to others, growing spiritually, and never forgetting the many blessings they receive from those they visit.
